The Stroke Statistics

Globally, in 2018, the prevalence and annual incidence of stroke was more than 42 million and 16 million people, respectively, and was the second leading cause of death, being responsible for 6.3 million deaths annually.3 CINA-ASPECTS is a computer aided diagnosis software device used to assist clinicians, including stroke physicians and radiologists, in the assessment and characterization of brain tissue abnormalities using CT image data.1 CINA-ASPECTS automatically reorients images, segments and analyzes ASPECTS Regions of Interest (ROIs). CINA-ASPECTS extracts image data for the ROI(s) to provide analysis and computer analytics based on morphological characteristics. The imaging features are then synthesized by an artificial intelligence algorithm into an ASPECT (Alberta Stroke Program Early CT) Score.1,2

    Accurate Lesion detection and quantification

Overall reading accuracy was comparable to that of board-certified vascular neuroradiologists4. CINA-ASPECTS produces a heat map indicating areas of suspected hypodensity and/or sulcal effacement in the brain suggestive of early ischemic changes1 and a summary chart with mean Hounsfield Unit per ASPECTS region1,2
